Privacy Policy

Safa is an alarm app that helps you wake for the Fajr prayer. It asks for no personal information in order to work: without an account, a name or a photo, the alarm, the prayer times and the wake-up missions all function completely.

If you add something — a name, a photo, an account — it is kept for you and can be removed at any time.

• Audio from a wake-up mission never leaves your device.
• Your location is never sent to our servers and never shared with anyone.
• Donation amounts are never shown to anyone.
• There is no advertising. Your data is not sold.

Anonymous account. The first time you open the app, the server issues you a random identifier. It contains no name, no email address and no phone number. Your streak and your badges are attached to it.

Sign-in (optional). If you sign in with Telegram, we store the numeric id Telegram gives us — that is what lets you restore your account on a new phone. No password is stored.

Profile (optional). Display name, full name, gender, date of birth, photo and country, only if you enter them. Each can be changed or removed at any time.

Wake-up records. Which mornings you woke for Fajr, which mission you completed, and your streak. This lives on your phone first; if you have an account, a copy is kept on the server so it survives a lost or replaced device.

Support. Payments are taken by an external payment provider. Safa never sees or stores your card details; we receive only the fact that a payment succeeded.

Messages. Questions you send us, and our replies, for as long as the conversation lasts.

Notifications. A technical token issued by Google for your device, so a notification can reach it. It does not identify you.

None of the following is ever transmitted to us:

• Audio. For the recitation mission the microphone is active only while that screen is open. Speech is processed by your phone's own recognition system; it is not recorded, not saved and not uploaded.
• Location. Used to calculate prayer times and the direction of the qibla, and stored on the device. It is not sent to our servers.
• Motion. The walking mission reads the accelerometer only while that screen is open.
• Camera. Opened for the QR/barcode mission and for a profile photo. The code you register is stored only on your phone.

Safa has no comments, no likes and no direct messages.

Your profile. New accounts have a visible profile: your name, photo and badges can be opened by other users. You can switch this off at any time in Profile → Edit.

Leaderboards. Appearing on a leaderboard is a separate setting and is off unless you turn it on.

The supporters wall. If you support the app, your name may appear on the wall. The amount is never shown.

Duas. The duas you send are chosen from a fixed set of phrases; there is no free text.

Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising. It is held only by the services the app needs in order to work:

• Hetzner — the server that holds the database, the accounts and alarm.mysafa.uz (Helsinki, Finland). The server is ours; your data does not leave it.
• Google Firebase — solely to deliver push notifications.
• Telegram — only if you choose to sign in with it.
• A payment provider — only if you make a donation; the payment is handled under that provider's own policy.

We may disclose data where the law requires it, and in no other circumstance.

Export. Profile → Export my data gives you everything we hold about you, as a file.

Deletion. Profile → Delete account erases everything held on the server. This cannot be undone.

Switching things off. Notifications, the leaderboard and a visible profile can each be turned off at any time, from inside the app.

Safa is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

If this policy changes, the date on this page changes with it. We will tell you in the app about anything significant.
